The Funarium is Perth’s newest winter school holiday festival for kids aged 4-12! Held at the Claremont Showground from 7-9 July 2017.  Kids can enjoy seven hours of unlimited play in 10 themed zones with a focus on education, creativity and imagination!

The 10 zones cater for interests in cooking, action, arts & crafts, animals, music, technology, science, nature play and gardening, construction and careers.

Highlights include the RAC Rescue Experience in a helicopter, teepee building with Nature Play WA, a silent disco,  80m zip line stacked on sea containers, photography workshops with Nathan from Channel 7’s Get Arty inflatable planetarium from Scitech, cooking with My Kitchen Rules teams, animals galore (even the scaly ones!), hip hop dance classes, and the HUGE inflatable Mudd Rush obstacle course and LOADS more.

A first-time event in 2017, The Funarium offers an affordable, full-day of holiday entertainment for one ticket price including over 40 activities.

Experience the excitement of the legendary 350m Mini Rush obstacle circuit, or if that doesn’t get the adrenaline pumping, try flying from great heights off the zip line! If the kids are looking for something a little less intense, try out the junior yoga sessions.

Arty Party

In Arty Party, kids of all ages can showcase their creative skills.  With a focus on recycling, Arty Party will have plenty of activities for kids to get their creative pants on!  With newspapers, paint, sand and origami, kids can create their own work of art or watch the professionals and take home some tips!  Just be sure not to wear your best clothes!

Funky Town

General Information

What is The Funarium?
The Funarium is Perth’s newest July school holiday festival, tailored for kids aged 4-12. Explore the 10 zones of The Funarium, which will be chock full of fun, educational and entertaining activities across a wide range of interests.
When is the event?

The Funarium will be held from the 7th – 9th July 2017. The event will be open from 9am – 4pm each day. You can purchase a ticket for your desired day and attend for as long a time as you like.

Where is the event?

The Funarium will be held at the Claremont Showground, 1 Graylands Rd, Claremont, with access via Gate 6 (parking available here) and the Showground Train Station Gate.

Can I smoke at the venue?

No, The Funarium is a smoke-free and alcohol-free event.

Ticketing Information

What is the price of a ticket?

Please refer to for all ticketing prices. Adults are 18+ and children are 4-17. Children under 4 are permitted in the venue (no ticket required if they will not be participating in activities) however they are not catered for in the activities.

What is a group and family ticket option?

A child (group booking) provides a discounted ticket option for groups of 10 or more children. This ticket type would be best suited for holiday care groups, parties etc. A family ticket provides a discount for 2 adults and 2 children to attend.

Can I purchase tickets on the day?

Yes, if ticket allocations for the day are not already exhausted. Online purchase is recommended to avoid disappointment.

My ticket booking online won’t process, what do I do?

Please contact The Funarium event hotline on (08) 9244 5200 and one of our friendly staff will be able to help!

Is there a concession price?

Unfortunately not, there are only child and adult prices.

Can I leave and re-enter the festival throughout the day?

No, there are no pass-outs for this event.

What if I lose or forget to bring my ticket along?

Tickets are the responsibility of patrons and we strongly advise patrons to keep their ticket safe and remember to bring them to the festival. Please check your email for a copy of your ticket which would have been sent at the time of purchase or attend the box office at the entry gate.

Event Day Information

How can we get to the event? Is there parking available?

Public Transport: The Showground Station will be in operation for the duration of the event. The cost of public transport is not included in the ticket price. Regularly scheduled services will apply, you can plan your journey here.

Drive: There will be parking available at The Showground via Gate 6 for $5 or existing street parking located around the venue on Graylands Road and on Ashton Ave (please abide by any local government street signage).

How do I gain access to the venue? Do I need to print my ticket?

You will need to purchase a ticket to your chosen day and present this at the gate for scanning. You can show this on your smart phone or bring a printed copy.

Can my child go on their own to the event?

Unfortunately all children must have a parent, guardian or adult accompanying them/their group at the event.

What should I bring with me on the day?

Don’t forget to bring your tickets with you, either printed or on your smart phone. Enclosed shoes are recommended for some of the outdoor activities. Food and drink will be available for purchase however you are permitted to bring snacks (no meals or picnics allowed). Keep in mind, anything you bring will need to be carried with you on the day.

What should I wear?

Wear comfy clothes (ready to get out there and running around or dirty if need be!), enclosed shoes and a hat for any outdoor activities.

I’m now unable to attend, what can I do?

Please choose carefully when purchasing your ticket, as we are unable to swap your chosen day. Unfortunately we are unable to provide refunds for tickets purchased however you are able to provide your ticket to someone else to attend in your place. Tickets do not have attendee names written on them, so do not need to be transferred into another name.

How old do you have to be able to attend?

We recommend the event for ages 4-12 as the activities are tailored to this age group. Children will need to be accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult for the day. Children under 4 are permitted in the venue (no ticket required) however they are not catered for in the activities.

Do I have to pay for anything else once we’re inside?

No, your ticket includes unlimited activities at The Funarium! The only additional costs will be for merchandise or any food and beverage if you choose to purchase these.

Is the venue accessible for prams and wheelchairs?

Yes, the Claremont showgrounds is an accessible venue and prams are permitted.

Will there be First-Aid at the event?

There will be First-Aid posts at the event, please see the event map for further information which will be released closer to the event.

Can I get cash out at an ATM?

Yes, ATM’s will be in operation at the venue for The Funarium.

Is there somewhere I can leave a bag or pram?

Yes, there will be a cloaking facility available, please refer to the event map for location which will be released closer to the event.

What can I do if my child gets lost?

There will be ID wristbands available upon request at the gates for you to fill in your details to be worn by your child at the event. There will also be two Lost Children desks manned by Constable Care, please refer to the event map for locations.

Will the event go ahead if there is wet weather?

Yes, the event will be held mostly indoors and will go ahead rain, hail or shine. Please bring wet weather clothes if you wish to participate in some of the outdoor activities.

Is there a Mother’s Room that I can use?

Yes, there are Mother’s Rooms available at the venue, please refer to the event map for locations.

Parents Zone

Sit down, relax and unwind in the Parents Zone! There will be food and beverage vendors, reading materials and more for you to enjoy away from the action.
